1. Work Agreement & Scope of Work

First and foremost, the company will provide a detailed agreement. This includes the site visit, design plans finalization, materials selection, costing summery, mode of payment, work time schedule, and deliverables. Always read this document carefully to ensure all your requirements are included.

2. Payment Terms

Now, let’s talk about money! Interior design projects typically follow a phased payment system. Here’s a common structure many companies, including top firms, use:

• 40% Payment: This is the initial payment made when you confirm the work order. This amount is necessary for the design team to start planning, procuring materials, and starting your project.
• Next 30% Payment: Once 40% of the work is complete, you’ll need to pay the next installment. At this stage, you’ll start to see the design take shape.
• Next 20% Payment: After 60% of the work is done, you’ll be asked to pay another 20%. This ensures that the company can maintain quality and meet deadlines as the project nears completion.
• Final 10% Payment: The remaining 10% is due within 7 days of completing the entire project. This allows you to inspect the entire work.

This phased payment system ensures transparency and helps both parties stay accountable throughout the project.

3. Timeline & Delays

When signing the work order, you must clearly discuss with the company how long it will take to complete your project. Due to external factors, there may be some delay in completing the project. If there is a delay, the company will definitely talk to the client.

4. Additional Costs

If you request any changes after all work has been completed, or if you require any additional work outside of the work order, additional charges will apply.
